I have some great news! I’ve been selected for WRC Photo of the Year, and I’m truly happy and grateful.

This photograph was taken at this year’s WRC Rally Chile, on the Power Stage finish jump. I noticed how high the cars were jumping, which allowed me to shape the composition in a very specific way — capturing only the sky, the car, and the flames.

My intention was to keep the frame as clean and minimal as possible, letting only the most important and striking elements define the image. I positioned myself behind the take-off ramp, waiting for that one precise moment.

In the frame is the Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT crew Elfyn Evans – Scott Martin.

When everything came together in this image, I knew it worked — and I’m truly happy with the result.

Scenes like this are extremely rare in rally photography.

The winner will be announced on January 2nd.
